Reflection: As a preservice teacher lots of my potential anxiety steams from the lie that I will be wholly and individually responsible for the success of my students, without the help or assistance of anyone. Through cross-curricular rounds I was able to identify the crucial team members that make up support staff and I began to witness the type of support they offer the classroom teacher and, most importantly, the students. Content teachers such as in preschool and art were able to align their teaching with state standards, and Ms. Northcutt further aligned her teaching with content that was being taught in the different grade levels. Resource teachers such as the counselor and Title 1 were able to provide for the students' needs that was effected beyond the classroom. These members of support staff helped balance and maintain healthy child development which allowed students to focus on the learning. |
